How to get there

Self drive

Head south from Darwin on the Stuart Highway & turn left onto the Arnhem Highway.  The trip to Jabiru takes about three hours by sealed road. The road is also sealed to Mamukala Wetlands, Ubirr, Cahill's Crossing, Nourlangie Rock & Cooinda (Yellow Water), so a standard  2WD vehicle will be fine. However, if you want to go further afield to places like Jim Jim & Twin Falls you'll need a 4WD.

Tours

A number of tour operators offer both day return and overnight tours to Kakadu. Tours include 1 or 2 nights stay in Jabiru with short trips during the day to popular locations.

Scenic Flight

For an awesome experience, why not consider a day return scenic trip from Darwin?
